INTRODUCTION TO WORDPRESS PART 2::: SETTING UP WORDPRESS.ORG ON YOUR COMPUTER

·         HOW TO INSTALL XAMPP AND WORDPRESS ON YOUR PC :-

1.         i.            Download the Wordpress through internet at http://www.wordpress.org

1.       ii.            Download the XAMPP 3.2.1  HERE

1.     iii.            Install the XAMPP Server on your PC by DOUBLE CLICKING on the XAMPP you just downloaded and setup the installation process.

1.     iv.            After Installation is complete, Go to my computer >>> C: DRIVE>> then PROGRAM FILES >>> then XAMPP>>> then HTDOCS. Open HTDOCS folder then Copy and paste the WORDPRESS you downloaded earlier in the HTDOCS

1.       v.            Extract the Wordpress folder 

1.     vi.            Rename the file to the site name you wish e.g. Fairprice.ng

1.   vii.            Lunch XAMPP server start APACHE and MYSQL 

  
 

1. viii.            Lunch your browser and type localhost/phpmyadmin/

1.     ix.            Click DATABASE and create Databse FAIR  

 

1.       x.            Type localhost/fair/wp-admin/setup-config.php hit enter and click LET GO!

1.     xi.            A new page will appear, fill the form provided like this

 

1.   xii.            Click Submit

1. xiii.            A new page will appear, Click RUN THE INSTALL

1. xiv.            A new page will appear, Fill the form as its shown below

1.  xv.            After filling the form click Install Wordpress!

xvi.            And Lastly goto localhost/Fair/wp-admin/ on your browser to logon to your Admin panel
